Our best stay in Morocco

We spent three nights in this beautiful riad. The location couldn't be better - it's within the medina but only two minutes walk from a car park. The restaurants near Bab Boujeloud are literally next door, the souks of the medina a short walk away, as well as Fes Jdid. The riad is exceptionally restored, decorated and furnished. We had the funniest suite we have ever stayed at - very long, located on the medium level, accessible by two private staircases from both the ground floor lobby and the roof terrace. As the room only had a window overlooking the inner court, it was very quiet (though a bit stuffy on our first night when it was hot and humid). Free wi-fi was available. Throughout all our stay we experienced a warm and very personal welcome from the owner Jean-Pierre and all his staff, surprisingly numerous for such a small establishment. Food and drinks were great.

PS Almost all hotels we booked in Morocco requested my credit card details to guarantee the booking but this was the ONLY one to actually accept payment by credit card :)

Probably the best place to stay in Fes

We stayed in the Riad for 4 nights with a little baby and we have to say that it was a wonderful experience. Owner and staff really took care for all our wishes (and with the baby we have had a lot), the meals are just exceptionally good and of course the riad itself is a romantic spotless place.

Beautiful, quiet riad in the center of the medina

The courtyard with its garden and trickling fountain is a real oasis in the middle of town. We loved exploring Fes from here after having breakfast in the roof garden. Our room had spectacularly high ceilings. Overall a great experience--we'd go back again.

Secret garden in the medina

"This is a traditional riad, a house built around a garden in an inner courtyard. The architecture is superb with beautiful blue and white mosaic tiles on the ground and walls, carved stucco and woodwork. Songbirds sing and play in the fountain and the trees. The rooftop has a restaurant and outdoor table surrounded by flowers" ... "The rooms around the courtyard are magnificent and fit for a pasha. The experience of navigating the narrow alleyways to find the entrance is worth the price by itself. It is fairly easy to find for all that, a big plus in a town where even natives can get lost" ... "I feel. They can engage a guide for you, which you will need. Fez may be one of the most challenging streetscapes you will ever encounter (the main commercial street is perhaps 12 feet in width at its widest), but the mystery involved makes it all worthwhile." ...

Wonderful staff, beautiful riad

Beautiful room, gorgeous riad, amazing meals and hot water! The staff set me up with a tour guide for the day, who gave me the best tour I ever could have imagined. With Azadeen, I ended up seeing far more than I even planned on seeing. He was very knowledgeable and well worth the price!

Cooking Lessons

This place is hidden away, but beautiful and comfortable. We had a nice quiet lunch on the terrace and then accompanied the chef to the market to gather all fresh ingredients. Next it was to the kitchen for a 3 hour cooking lessons during which we helped the cook staff prepare the evening meal at the Riad for about 25 people. The chef and her assistants, Amine and Mishda, were great and very fun to work with. We had to pause sometimes to prepare some mint tea for arriving guests...and of course some for us as well! Very relaxed and informal...our teenage daughters loved it. We appreciated the last minute arrangements that Riad Louna made to host us. Thanks!

Beautiful riad, and my favorite breakfast in Morocco

This was our second stay at Riad Louna, having stayed also 5 years ago. It's a beautiful building from 1369, with an enchanting courtyard. Great location, beautiful rooms, helpful staff. We've made 4 excursions throughout most of Morocco in the past 5 years, and I find that Riad Louna has the best riad breakfast available. Incredible fresh cheese and sweet potato jam. Reserve it for the rooms and location. Return again for the cheese.

Best stay ever!

We just loved this riad! We stayed in one of the suites and it was the most gorgeous hotel we have ever stayed in! It was like staying in one of the palaces.
The things we loved about Riad Louna:
1) BEAUTIFUL!!
2) Location is great! Be careful, if you try to plot it on google map, it shows somewhere completely different, somewhere outside the medina. (Booking.com shows it different too) The actual location is close to Place Batha (where "Musee dar el Batha" is)
3) The breakfast was great too. We even delayed our train the day we were leaving just because we wanted to enjoy our breakfast more. We also loved the dinner there. It's expensive compared to morocco standard, but it was worth it! We had the best tajin there.
4) The staff were very friendly and helpful. Especially Jawad was great. Also they even machine-dried our clothes we washed the night before and had it nicely folded when we came back. We could tell that Jawad was doing his best to make our stay perfect, introducing a great hammam for us, giving us all sorts of advise about the city etc.
